Are you sick of remakes yet? Well get ready for the next in a line of classic films getting the do-over treatment. Gremlins! and not only that classic child film the Goonies will be getting a "sequel". I use that term loosely because it's just been so long since the original. All the original actors are well and grown up by now.
The new came from Ain't It Cool News who reaffirmed that Goonies 2 was very real. With Chris Columbus and Steven Spielberg looking at writers and producers to take on the task. They also made a quick mention by way of the gremlins remake, which is supposedly getting fast tracked.
The last time we heard rumors about the remake it was supposed to be around the corner. We'll see how accurate AICN is about this particular information in the near future. If it does turn out to be true, would the film look better with puppets or CGI?
I'm gonna go with improved Puppetry. It would nice to see that classic style make the jump to today's audience, and just look more realistic in that respect. However, CGI seems to be the way to go and it's what sells these days. So I find it highly likely we will see CGI gremlins.
