The first act of Double Fine's brand new point and click adventure game will be coming to PC,Mac and Linux on January 28th. Those of you who purchase act one will get act 2 for free when it's released later in the year.
Back in 2012 Hosted a kickstarter for the project and went on to be the most successful in kickstarter hisorty earning 3.3 million, which it's goal was only 400,000 at the time.
Double Fine's President Tim Schafer had this to say about the project " “It's been sixteen years since I've made an adventure game, almost twenty years since I've made a point-and-click, and just shy of two years since I dared the internet to force me to make one. Coming back to the genre has been like finding an old jacket in a box in your garage that you haven't worn in twenty years, but once you shake the dust off and put it on you realize it's an amazing jacket and it still fits, and once you patch the holes in the pockets it could easily take a spot in your main jacket rotation. Oh, and also, in one of the pockets was three and a half million dollars,"
The game's art-style is hand-drawn and 2-D. It's main mechanics being point-and-click a rather old genre that has gotten new life thanks to TellTale's success
There is a lot of expectation with this game. If it fails to deliver that backlash may be pretty high and damaging to Double-Fine's un-established brand. I still wish them great success with this game.
