While Dawn Of The Plant Of The Apes hasn't hit theaters, apparently Fox loves Matt Reeves work on the film so much that they've hired him back for the 3rd installment. Those of you may know, Matt replaced Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes director Rupert Wyatt( which in turn lead to the departure of Mr.Franco).
It's been reported that Fox began screen testing the upcoming sequel and one would assume it's been a pretty good reaction thus far. Which means fox may have two big winners on their hands with Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes and X-Men Days Of Future Past.
Matt Reeves will co-write the screenplay with Mark Bomback who worked on rewrites for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. Planet Of The Apes 3(as it's currently titled) is scheduled for 2016. Since these two movies have and will continue setting up this new world filled with intelligent apes, I feel the only next logical step is to actually remake the story in "Planet Of The Apes" that is, when the astronaut crash lands on earth to a world dominated by apes, and then do a final installment where the humans take over again. That's what I would do anyway.
