(Harold Ramis 1944-2014)
Harold Ramis, beloved actor/director of Comedy has passed on today at age 69. Best know for his work on Ghostbusters(also co-wrote), starring as Dr. Egon Spengler. He wrote and directed National Lampoon's Vacation. Ramis also went on to co-write and direct Caddyshack, Stripes and Groundhogs Day, Developing a close working relationship with Bill Murray, who was the leading man in all three of those films.
The actor's health began to break down after developing a rare disease called autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis. He recovered briefly and then relapsed on it again in 2011. He struggled with his physical ailments for the past three years, until finally this morning he passed away, surrounded by his family.
It's always sad to lose such a talented person. He may have not been as active in his career as he once was due to his illness. However, He's left quite the legacy behind and he's at peace. A sad loss indeed, my thoughts are with his family and friends.
