The first trailer for the upcoming sequel to The Purge, was released today. The film titled, The Purge:Anarchy will hit theaters June 20th of this year. Writer and director James DeMonaco returns at the helm for this project, this time focusing a new set of characters. From the looks of it, the new story focuses on a young couple as they are stranded on the night of the purge and have to find their way home.
The original received mostly negative reviews, though was a box office success. The new movie comes just one year after the original. Perhaps this could be the start of an annual franchise much like Paranormal activity has become. Will this be good? probably not, but if you were a fan of the original then this will probably get you excited for it.
