Video Blog:Plans For Next Week/Year

In order to celebrate new years, I made a special video blog. There will be a lot of announcements made in this video for next year as well as a breakdown of what you can expect for next week. Without further ado, here is my brand new video blog!:

Video Of The Week: 12.27.2013

This week's Video Of The Week goes to TotalBiscuit-Just One More Pre-Order

Yupp It's another Mr.Biscuit video this week. In this video, he makes a parody song, in the the form of a Christmas carol. He makes fun of how publishers are trying to exploit consumers and convince us to buy half-baked games, or games that can potentially be broken, and just makes fun of the people who fall for it. Its all in good fun, and it is pretty hilarious. Usually his videos are very serious so it's nice to see him do something that's fun and simple. As dry as his humor is to some. It's only 2 minutes long and it's time well spent.

My Top Ten Most Anticipated Movies Of 2014

I found it fitting that my final Top Ten post is about my most anticipated films for next year. I'm a movie buff, I love going to the movies. I love the summer when it's filled to the brim with huge action movies, and some with high-concepts and others..with minimal thought. There are a lot of movies coming out next year that I plan on seeing, but this list will  narrow it down to the movies on the top of my list.

So without further ado ere is my:

Top Ten Most Anticipated Movies Of 2014

                                                      1.X-Men Days Of Future Past

Coming in at number one, My most anticipated movie of next year is X-Men Days Of Future Past. Is it really that hard to see why? I'm a huge fan of the orginal X-Men movies, I loved the plots, the hidden messaging and the reflection of our own society. Yes all that is included in a movie about super-heroes. I loved X-Men First Class, the talent brought in to play younger versions of our beloved mutants, James Mcavoy, Michael Fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence was perfect for their roles. First Class marked a return for the franchise, furthered by the amazing The Wolverine, which had an end credits scene that blew me away. So as you might imagine, brings the two casts together interlaced with a time travel, killer robots and  my favorite cast member of Game Of Thrones, Peter Dinklage playing the main antagonist...there's a lot for me to be excited about. Oh yeah, and lets throw in the fact that Bryan Singer is returning, the guy who made X-Men and X-Men 2 as great as they were. But watch the trailer below if you don't believe me when I say this movie will be Epic!.

Trailer:

2.Godzilla

Yep Godzilla has made it to the top of my list. Over ten years since our destructive reptilian friend has wreaked havoc on the big screen. There is a lot of pressure on this film, as I'm personally a fan of the king of monsters. The film has two pretty talnted leads, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Aaron has the making to be our next big action hero, with him joining the cast of Avengers 2. Bryan Cranston is definitely gonna continue to blow up over the next few years, but this is also his biggest project since Breaking Bad. So, there is a whole lot of pressure for this movie to blow the audience away. I'm confident it will.
But don't take my word for it, watch the trailer!

Trailer:

3.How To Train Your Dragon 2

One of my favorite animated movies of all time, and one of the cutest. I have no doubt that How To Train Your Dragon 2 will be just as good if not better then the original. Much of the same voice cast is returning with some new additions and it looks like we'll be seeing different breeds of dragons that we haven't seen before. I don't know who will play the big baddie in the next installment but I fully expect there to be just as much cuteness as the first one, and that's all that matters. It will surely be the must see family movie of the year.

Trailer:

4.The Amazing Spider-Man 2

While I'll admit Spider-Man has now been made to appeal to younger teens, but I did enjoy it none the less. I love Emma Stone, she's a big draw for me. It's interesting to note that Sony wants to build an expanded universe like Marvel's. Which, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 just might be the start of it. Jamie Foxx as the main villain is exciting, I think he's a very talented actor, but there is some concern about the high volume of villains in this upcoming installment, I'm still excited about it, and hopefully it'll be much better then the first.
Trailer:

5.Maleficent

Honestly, this caught me of guard. I didn't think I was gonna be this excited for a movie about a major villain in the sleeping beauty universe. But low and behold I'm excited to see this dark twist on a classic fairytale story. Maybe it'll paint Maleficent in a better light? or we'll see a Tony Soprano/Walter White effect, where we think we're supposed to root for her because she's the protagonist but shes really just an awful person. This is all speculation..However, what would be cool is if Disney then adapted a sleeping beauty that take place directly after this film, with Jolie reprising her role. I feel as though Disney wants use the same model as Marvel, but with fairytales..like Snow White or Cinderella.

Trailer:

6.Into The Woods

I love Meryl Streep. I love Johnny Depp. So when there is a movie coming out that features both actors, Of course my hype-meter goes up by 80%. I actually worked on this same musical, in my high school theater group. I know pretty much how the story plays out. But I'm interested to see what changes are made and how large it will be, presented to us on the big screen. In case you're wondering, Meryl Streep plays the Wicked Witch and Johnny Depp is The Wolf.

7.Transcendence

Another Johnny Depp movie, Plot alone should make anyone turn their heads. If that doesn't't do it for you, then put it into perspective that how often do you see Johnny Depp take on a Sci-Fi role? This seems like a very different role for Mr.Depp as he normally plays the good guy or the sort of side character, But in Transcendence, He is kind of the villain. That's something that I find really fascinating.

Trailer:

8.Interstellar

Interstellar is a movie that I don't know a whole lot about. I'm still excited for it though. I mean I'm a huge fan of Christopher Nolan, I think is one of the modern greats. Seeing him take on the Sci-Fi genre will be intresting. But besides Nolan's direction it sports a great cast, Matthew McConaughey,Anne Hathaway,Jessica Chastain,Michael Caine,Matt Damon,Casey Affleck,Topher Grace among others. That and the story is supposed involve space explorers traveling through a wormhole. Seem like it's going to be quite a ride.

Trailer:

9.RoboCop

Perhaps one of the Biggest Sci-Fi movies of the 80's Robocop. It's sequels failed to recapture any of the love of it's predecessor and the franchise faded into obscurity. However, a remake is on the horizon, hoping to bring back some bitter fans, to the franchise...as well as succeed in a movie landscape much different from the 80s. Will this movie be good, who knows. But I am excited to see what direction this movie will go in, and frankly whether or not fans of the original will embrace it or try and tear it down. We'll see. I'll certainly be in the theaters when this comes out.

Trailer:

10.Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Finally we come to Captain America The Winter Soldier. I enjoyed the first Captain America, I know a lot of people didn't for whatever reason but I will be in theaters to see this movie for sure. How could you go wrong with Scarlett Johansson? I like what Marvel's done with their film franchise, and while other movie studios are obviously gonna rip this model and then I'll be sick of it like most Hollywood trends, but right now I'll enjoy it. Hopefully they keep the same level of quality as the previous films in the avengers line-up. I have no doubt that they will.

Trailer:

Well there you have it, My Top Ten Most Anticipated Movies. This is my last Top Ten list of the year, and for quite some time. I have other Top Ten lists up, that you might find interesting. Anyway thanks for reading! comment below what movies you are excited for.

Video(S) Of The Week: 12.20.2013

It's sort of cheating...But this week I have two videos that are claiming the title. Both of them are music videos. I like to switch things up. The last three weeks have been all gaming related, so this week it's all music.

1.Holding Onto Heaven-Foxes

The first video, is Holding Onto Heaven by Foxes. This is her latest song, released this Tuesday. I'm absolutely in love with this song. Foxes is just a down to earth singer, with a beautiful and soulful voice. She's very underrated but I have a feelings we'll see her grow more this upcoming year and after her album has been released. Which is coming in March. This song  is a free download, straight through Itunes, so there isn't really any reason not to get it. If you like the song you can check her other videos through FoxesVevo on YouTube.

2.Midnight City-M83

This next video is Midnight City by M83. This song is a couple years old, coming out back in 2011. I've been wanting to make this my video of the week but there was always something else they came up. So, Finally I can basically announce here, that Midnight Song is one of the greatest songs ever made...ever. The song has style, it has grace and Evokes some of the classic and timeless sounds of the 80's, the vocals reminiscent of The Cure and Bowie. Plus, the video is one of the coolest you'll ever see.

What do you think about this week's videos? Comment Below!

Movie News: Transcendence Trailer

The Debut trailer for the Christopher Nolan produced and Wally Pfister directed, sci-fi thriller Transcendence has gone live today. The film stars Johnny Depp,Rebbeca Hall, Morgan Freeman, Kate Mara and Cillian Murphy.

The official synopsis reads " Dr. Will Caster is an artificial intelligence researcher who strives to create a machine that possesses sentience and collective intelligence. Extremists who oppose technological advancement target him, but their actions drive him toward his goal. Caster also wants to become part of the new technology, and his wife Evelyn and his best friend Max Waters, also researchers, question the wisdom of this drive. Caster's goal to acquire knowledge becomes one to acquire power, and he seems to be unstoppable"

The film's will hit theaters April 18th 2014. This movie looks amazing, Johnny Depp  one of the most talented actors in my book. This seems like a very different role from, and the director is making his debut with this film. There is a lot of unkowns, and I couldn't guess if this movie will be actually good, or successful. That said I'm still very excited. It's a teaser, none of the movie is shown, it's just to get you hyped.

Movie News: Expendables 3 Trailer

The first trailer for Expendables 3 has debuted today. One of the most testosterone fueled film franchise ever , The Expendables have proven to be a hit among movie goers. With Expendables 2 earning over 300 million dollars at the box office. Like previous entries, the film sports an ensemble cast, with returning members Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. New comers include Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas and Harrison Ford.

The plot follows the mecarny group as they " come face to face with the team's co-founder Conrad Stonebanks. Ross was forced to kill Stonebanks after he became a ruthless arms trader, but Stonebanks survived and has now made it his mission to destroy The Expendables. Ross resorts to recruiting a new and younger generation of Expendables to help the team overcome his old adversary."

I admit these movies are my guilty pleasure. I love action movies, and I'm pretty much a fan of most of these actors, save for Mel Gibson. I'll be checking this movie out, seeing if it improves upon its predecessors or if it turns out to be a big turd. The trailer is only a teaser so not much of the movie is shown.

TV News: Twitter TV Series

Lionsgate has aquired the rights to adapt New York Time columnist Nick Bilton's book, Hatching Twitter: A True Story of Money, Power, Friendship and Betrayal. Lionsate is looking to brings this to the small screen with Bilton himself writing and producing the series. Allison Shearmur will executive produce.

Allison sat with the magazine Variety. Having this to say about the project "Hatching Twitter’ will go behind the scenes of a groundbreaking Silicon Valley company in a way that’s never been captured before on television,‘The Social Network’ was a perfect film, and this series will be different, providing a longer view of the work life changes, gamesmanship and personal sacrifices made by a group of individuals who are building a company that will change the way that people communicate.”

There hasn't been any more information released. No air dates are planed, no channels have been announced, and there hasn't been casting new either. More information will likely come in the new year. This could be a very fascinating series if handled right. But we can be assured that it will be over exaggerated in order to add some interest to the subject. I'll be following this closely.

I don't get to cover Nintendo too much, But earlier today Nintendo had it's Nintendo direct and they made a few announcements. One of the biggest one's being Hyrule Warriors( This is a working title and my be subject to change) The game uses the same style of game play as dynasty warriors. It will contain some of the iconic weapons, locations, and characters.

This isn't the first cross over, with Dynasty Warriors: Gundam which hit the PS3 in 2007. This is not a new Zelda game as many have mistakenly reported, You can check out the official reveal trailer below.

Movie News: Welcome To Yesterday Trailer

The trailer for the upcoming found-footage film Welcome To Yesterday was released today. The film stars Jonny Weston, Sofia Black D'Elia and Amy Landecker and is directed by Dean Israelite. The film is presented in found-footage format centered around the creation of a time machine. The film is produced by Platnium Dun, Micheal Bay's production house and distributed by Paramount Pictures.

This film was originally titled as Almanac, however it was recently changed. It will hit theaters by February 28th 2014. Found-footage has been done before, a million times. But it's nice to see this filming style paired with a rather niche film sub-genre. Watch the trailer below and comment what you think!

Movie News: Three Days To Kill Trailer

The first official trailer for Three Days To Kill has been released today. The film which stars Kevin Costner, Amber Heard and Hailiee Steinfield, features Kevin Costner as a dying secret service agent who accepts one last mission in hopes of retirement and medical treatment. Plot is boring and tried, but does sport a pretty talented cast. The film is directed by McG while Luc Besson andAdi Hasak serve as writers.

The film is slated to hit February 21st 2014. It look generic, but don;t take my word for it. Watch the trailer and comment what you think.
