It's time! for my new Top Ten list. This week it's my most anticipated games of 2014. I felt it was very fitting considering it's December and we're down to the last weeks of 2013. This post hopefully won't be too wordy, as these game aren't out yet, so I don't have solid thoughts on them, just excitement.
Note: Majority of the games in this post do not have selected release dates at the time of writing this. Some dates are subject to change.
Without further ado, here is my:
Top Ten Most Anticipated Games Of 2014
1.Watch Dogs-Spring(PC,PS3,Xbox 360,Wii U,PS4,Xbox One)
Yes, my number one most anticipated game, is Watch Dogs. Why you ask? well two reasons, one It's about hacking, yes...hacking into a city that runs basically on a network. The other reason is, this is supposed to be the face of Next-Gen...the game was supposed to come out at the end of 2013, mainly November..but was delayed to 2014. That left a huge hole, in gamers hearts. So far this generation's launch...it's been successful but at the same time lackluster..there haven't been any games that scream "This Is The Future Of Gaming!" And I have every hope that Watch Dogs can fill that void when it's released...Will it be good? I have no idea, but I'm still eagerly waiting to get my hands on it.

2.The Sims 4-Quarter 3(PC,Mac)
I've been playing the Sims series since I was in my tween years. There was a lot to love and hate about The Sims 3, but it failed to capture my heart like The Sims 2. However, my hopes are high still for The Sims 4, considering maxis is back working on the next entry, after taking a hiatus from the series. So a lot of the people behind the Sims 2 are returning. So can the creatives behind The Sims 2 and the creatives behind The Sims 3, team up and make a sequel that blows me away..only time will tell.
Here is the trailer:
3.Infamous: Second Son, March 21st(PS4)
The Infamous series is hands down one of the best PS3 has ever had. Brought to you by the same company who created the Sly Cooper franchise, one of my most beloved from the PS2 era. Infamous is a game the screams next-gen to me. It looks beautiful. The story focuses on a completely new character, which is fine considering they wrapped Cole's storyline up . This new protagonist looks a bit more interesting then Cole, and his powers look awesome! I'm confident Sucker Punch, will blow the previous entries out of the water. This may be the game that pushes me to gets a PS4, before I get an Xbox One.
Here is the trailer:
4.Dragon Age 3:Inquisition,Quarter 3(PC,PS3,Xbox 360, Xbox One,PS4)
I love Bioware, I love Dragon Age. Dragon Age 2 did have its Bull-Hockey that made you wanna punch your console, I'm a loyal fan of Bioware and I'm still excited for the 3rd installment. Bioware still has a lot to prove, after the Mass Effect 3 ending incident, some fans have been left feeling burned. This could very well be an indicator of Bioware's future. I'm pretty anxious about it.
Here is the trailer:
5.Destiny,September 9th(PS3,Xbox 360,PS4,Xbox One)
Bungie is arguably the most influential game studio, in gaming history. If it wasn't for thier work on Halo, we wouldn't have Call Of Duty or Battlefield, or Medal Of Honor..or if we did it wouldn't be how it is today. Halo revolutionized the first person shooter genre and that's all thanks to Bungie. It look as if Bungie is ready to revolutionize FPS again, this time for the new generation. It can be argued that it looks similar to Halo, but there is enough different about it, both mechanically and artistically to feel fresh. I can't wait to get my hands on it, but should I get it for PS4? Or Xbox One?
Here is a trailer:
6.Tom Clancy's The Division, Quarter 4(PC,Xbox One, PS4)
I more interested in playing these types of games that are next-gen exclusive. I feel very strongly that developing for last gen is going to stifle any sort of innovation when it comes to games, and gameplay. So i'm very curious to see how this turns out, it's not restrained to have to run on old tech, It will be able to take full advantage of these new machines, and what limits they can pushed. That's something the excites me. This can't come soon enough.
Here is the trailer:
7.The Order: 1886 TBA(PS4)
Another Next-gen exclusive, this time a PS4 exclusive. The PlayStation 4 is a way more powerful machine, there's no denying that. Yes i'm looking at you Xbox One fan-boys. So this is another game that isn't held back by old tech, and has a relatively powerful machine for a console. I'm excited and anxious to see if this game is able to produce a ground-breaking title. Of course, as with everything...there is a chance this will be a hot mess, but I'm optimistic and I'm keeping an open mind.
Here is the Trailer:
8.The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt TBA(PC, PS4, Xbox One)
The Witcher is one of the greatest RPG franchises ever. It's not for faint of heart, it's a challenge through and through. It will test your brain power, and requires you to plan and strategize as you enter combat. Just winging it won't get you anywhere. The Witcher 2 was a beautiful looking game, it puts Skyrim to shame. The 3rd installment does not look like it's going to disappoint, I'm super excited to get my hands on this. It's next gen-exclusive to boot, so the game should be breath taking.
Here is the Trailer:
9.Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Patriots TBA(PC, PS4, Xbox One)
I've always enjoyed the Rainbow 6 Franchise, I liked that more tactical aspect to it. A lot of shooters, don't require much skill, unless you play online multiplayer. But since I pretty much hate playing shooters online, Rainbow 6 usually fills that void. I enjoyed Vegas 2 quite a bit, I enjoyed the story and the squad control. Let's see how much this entry will innovate over the franchise, especially since this is a next-gen exclusive.
Here is a trailer:
10.Mass Effect 4?
There's two reasons why this is number 10, and why there is a question mark next to it. I decided to put this on my post, because I love Mass Effect, it's my favorite game series of all time. If I knew fr sure that this was coming out in 2014, this would be my Number one, and there would be a whole essay about it( Maybe that's an exaggeration but you get the point) Still it's on here because there is a strong possibility it could come out at the tail end of 2014 or earlier (Yes please.) so I decided to put it at the end anyways, just to be safe. There isn't a whole lot of information, and fans have been chomping at the bit for any details, so there isn't a whole lot to say about it, other then it will be one of the biggest releases for me, whether it's out next year or the beginning of 2015. Oh and I put a question mark next to it, because there isn't even a hint on whether or not it's a direct sequel and if it will get a 4 slapped on the end of it.
