Another game related video this week. I selected this awesome episode of Game Theory, which is essentially about whether or not, Link is dead in Majora's Mask. While it is entertaining to watch for sure, that's not the main reason why I wanted to write a post about it. I think this video is a perfect example of how video games can provoke deep thought, and analysis.Just like movies, just like tv shows and just like books.
Yes mechanically a game involves mindless killing, but I can say with confidence that not all gamer's want that. That trend is changing. I will digress and say Video Games as a medium still has a long way to go before it reaches maturity, but it's still an art form, a legitimate one. Majora's Mask came out quite a while ago, but if game that old, sparks this kind of discussion, then you can only imagine how games are today.
If you ever have any doubts about the power of story telling in a video game, or if it's a legitimate means to tell a story, then hopefully this video will persuade you otherwise, and of course..If you love it, subscribe to his channel, watch all his videos because he puts a lot of effort and work into them. The production values are top notch, and he's genuinely funny.
