My Top Ten Most Anticipated Movies Of 2014

I found it fitting that my final Top Ten post is about my most anticipated films for next year. I'm a movie buff, I love going to the movies. I love the summer when it's filled to the brim with huge action movies, and some with high-concepts and others..with minimal thought. There are a lot of movies coming out next year that I plan on seeing, but this list will  narrow it down to the movies on the top of my list.

So without further ado ere is my:

Top Ten Most Anticipated Movies Of 2014

                                                      1.X-Men Days Of Future Past

Coming in at number one, My most anticipated movie of next year is X-Men Days Of Future Past. Is it really that hard to see why? I'm a huge fan of the orginal X-Men movies, I loved the plots, the hidden messaging and the reflection of our own society. Yes all that is included in a movie about super-heroes. I loved X-Men First Class, the talent brought in to play younger versions of our beloved mutants, James Mcavoy, Michael Fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence was perfect for their roles. First Class marked a return for the franchise, furthered by the amazing The Wolverine, which had an end credits scene that blew me away. So as you might imagine, brings the two casts together interlaced with a time travel, killer robots and  my favorite cast member of Game Of Thrones, Peter Dinklage playing the main antagonist...there's a lot for me to be excited about. Oh yeah, and lets throw in the fact that Bryan Singer is returning, the guy who made X-Men and X-Men 2 as great as they were. But watch the trailer below if you don't believe me when I say this movie will be Epic!.

2.Godzilla

Yep Godzilla has made it to the top of my list. Over ten years since our destructive reptilian friend has wreaked havoc on the big screen. There is a lot of pressure on this film, as I'm personally a fan of the king of monsters. The film has two pretty talnted leads, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Aaron has the making to be our next big action hero, with him joining the cast of Avengers 2. Bryan Cranston is definitely gonna continue to blow up over the next few years, but this is also his biggest project since Breaking Bad. So, there is a whole lot of pressure for this movie to blow the audience away. I'm confident it will.
But don't take my word for it, watch the trailer!

3.How To Train Your Dragon 2

One of my favorite animated movies of all time, and one of the cutest. I have no doubt that How To Train Your Dragon 2 will be just as good if not better then the original. Much of the same voice cast is returning with some new additions and it looks like we'll be seeing different breeds of dragons that we haven't seen before. I don't know who will play the big baddie in the next installment but I fully expect there to be just as much cuteness as the first one, and that's all that matters. It will surely be the must see family movie of the year.

4.The Amazing Spider-Man 2

While I'll admit Spider-Man has now been made to appeal to younger teens, but I did enjoy it none the less. I love Emma Stone, she's a big draw for me. It's interesting to note that Sony wants to build an expanded universe like Marvel's. Which, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 just might be the start of it. Jamie Foxx as the main villain is exciting, I think he's a very talented actor, but there is some concern about the high volume of villains in this upcoming installment, I'm still excited about it, and hopefully it'll be much better then the first.
Trailer:

5.Maleficent

Honestly, this caught me of guard. I didn't think I was gonna be this excited for a movie about a major villain in the sleeping beauty universe. But low and behold I'm excited to see this dark twist on a classic fairytale story. Maybe it'll paint Maleficent in a better light? or we'll see a Tony Soprano/Walter White effect, where we think we're supposed to root for her because she's the protagonist but shes really just an awful person. This is all speculation..However, what would be cool is if Disney then adapted a sleeping beauty that take place directly after this film, with Jolie reprising her role. I feel as though Disney wants use the same model as Marvel, but with fairytales..like Snow White or Cinderella.

6.Into The Woods

I love Meryl Streep. I love Johnny Depp. So when there is a movie coming out that features both actors, Of course my hype-meter goes up by 80%. I actually worked on this same musical, in my high school theater group. I know pretty much how the story plays out. But I'm interested to see what changes are made and how large it will be, presented to us on the big screen. In case you're wondering, Meryl Streep plays the Wicked Witch and Johnny Depp is The Wolf.

7.Transcendence

Another Johnny Depp movie, Plot alone should make anyone turn their heads. If that doesn't't do it for you, then put it into perspective that how often do you see Johnny Depp take on a Sci-Fi role? This seems like a very different role for Mr.Depp as he normally plays the good guy or the sort of side character, But in Transcendence, He is kind of the villain. That's something that I find really fascinating.

8.Interstellar

Interstellar is a movie that I don't know a whole lot about. I'm still excited for it though. I mean I'm a huge fan of Christopher Nolan, I think is one of the modern greats. Seeing him take on the Sci-Fi genre will be intresting. But besides Nolan's direction it sports a great cast, Matthew McConaughey,Anne Hathaway,Jessica Chastain,Michael Caine,Matt Damon,Casey Affleck,Topher Grace among others. That and the story is supposed involve space explorers traveling through a wormhole. Seem like it's going to be quite a ride.

9.RoboCop

Perhaps one of the Biggest Sci-Fi movies of the 80's Robocop. It's sequels failed to recapture any of the love of it's predecessor and the franchise faded into obscurity. However, a remake is on the horizon, hoping to bring back some bitter fans, to the franchise...as well as succeed in a movie landscape much different from the 80s. Will this movie be good, who knows. But I am excited to see what direction this movie will go in, and frankly whether or not fans of the original will embrace it or try and tear it down. We'll see. I'll certainly be in the theaters when this comes out.

Trailer:

10.Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Finally we come to Captain America The Winter Soldier. I enjoyed the first Captain America, I know a lot of people didn't for whatever reason but I will be in theaters to see this movie for sure. How could you go wrong with Scarlett Johansson? I like what Marvel's done with their film franchise, and while other movie studios are obviously gonna rip this model and then I'll be sick of it like most Hollywood trends, but right now I'll enjoy it. Hopefully they keep the same level of quality as the previous films in the avengers line-up. I have no doubt that they will.
