For those of you who don't know SimCity will be getting it's first expansion, Cities of Tomorrow. Which will be released tomorrow November 12th.The game is set 50 years into the future and is expected to have many near future themed features, such as Eco-friendly buildings, new disasters and being able to build your buildings to huge heights. SimCity was released back in March of this year, and caused quite a bit of controversy after their failure to handle the server loads which lasted for nearly 3 weeks before being sorted out and the only way the player could play the game was via an internet connection and a server connection. SimCity puts you in the shoes of a city planner as you work to create the most efficient city and profitable city of a certain region. You manage everything, resources, building placements, industries, corporations, tourism, and public transportation. Giving you tools to create the greatest city in the Sim world.
They are now exploring the possibility of an offline mode of the game, which until they do so i will not be playing this game. EA took a beating from this, and former CEO John Riccitello was forced to step down. It was a PR nightmare for them when SimCity Launched. However, this expansion pack looks and sounds awesome. The aesthetic of the buildings make for a cool visually appealing expansion.
Here is a trailer for the expansion pack:
