Movie News: Maleficent Trailer

Disney's latest live-action fairytale adaption  Maleficent has just released it's first trailer. The film stars Angelina Jolie as the titular character. The movie will focus on her life, from the awkward teen years until her adulthood. Showing the events in her life that turned her heart to stone and eventually drove her to curse princess Aurora

      This film is supposed to a revisionist's retelling of the classic Sleeping Beauty story, and Angelina looks to give her strongest performance to date. It's been awhile since shes hit the big screen in a big way, and she has a lot to live up to with this character. Still this looks to be the darkest Disney fairytale film yet.

    The film is being directed by Robert Stromberg in his directorial debut after being a production designer on hits such as: Avatar,Alice In Wonderland &Oz The Great And Powerful.  It's being produced by Don Hanh(Frankenweenie) and Joe Roth(America's Sweethearts). Ellie Fanning(Super 8) will play the famous Princess Aurora. The film is slated for May 30 2014.

   
    Super excited about this film, I love  that Disney is trying to do something dark and gothic with it's classic fairytale. I'm a huge fan of Angelina Jolie and shes perfect for a live action adaption for the character and will blow any other of her performances out of the water. I'll be heading to the theaters to see this when it's released.
