Here's something that may ruffle your feathers...Microsoft has been issuing temporary bans to users who have used the Upload Studio app. These users have used different manners of profanity, such as curse words. Upload Studio is an app that allows Xbox One users to upload gameplay videos, or kinect videos and edit them.
Microsoft has addressed the issue, by saying this while talking to IGN " To be clear, the Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement team does not monitor direct peer-to-peer communications like Skype chats and calls. Also, we take Code of Conduct moderation via Upload Studio very seriously. We want a clean, safe and fun environment for all users. Excessive profanity as well as other Code of Conduct violations will be enforced upon and result in suspension of some or all privileges on Xbox Live. We remain committed to preserving and promoting a safe, secure and enjoyable experience for all of our Xbox Live members"
Well there you have it, you pay close to 500$ for this machine, and you can still get banned from using it's features. Gaming consoles are moving to the point were they are no long "Your" machine, you're just buying into a service platform. I agree that this app should be kept clean, because there are younger gamers these days, but instead of banning or censoring, they should have made it so you can select if this is appropriate for all users, and if it isn't depend on the parent safety features, this person would be or wouldn't be allowed to watch it. I admit this app isn't supposed to foster real high quality content, just quick minute or second long videos of your gaming experience, but i do believe that it is unfair to the older and more mature gamers. If you're like me you can't help but to cuss it's a natural reaction.
