In an odd renaissance of Peter Pan, Hanna Director Joe Wright may be leading the charge on a currently untitled Peter Pan origin story, This puts him in with line with The Hunger Game's Garry Ross and Channing Tatum who are both also currently working on Pan Flicks. This origin story is written by Jason Fuchs and will be produced by Greg Berlanti. Wright is currently in talks, but a deal is probably gonna be struck between him and Warner Bros.
Disney is also working with Gary Ross on a Peter Pan prequel entitled Peter and the Starcatchers, sounds like a terrible New Wave band from the 80s. There isn't any details about Cahnning Tatums Peter Pan which is a deal he struck with Sony back in 2011 and would see Joe Roth produce. Both of these films are slow moving.
Oh Hollywood, why? Why do we need THREE Peter Pans? Why can't we just have one good one? I'm really curious to see what Joe Wright does with the character. In many ways it seems like a good choice. He's directed Hanna which is my favorite movie of 2011, that film shared many cinematic themes with Little Red Riding Hood. If the other films go belly up i wouldn't be upset, but i don't mind seeing Peter Pan hit the big screen again, as long as it's good.
