Movie News: World Of Warcraft Live Action Film Plot Details Revealed

For those of you who don't know World Of Warcraft is getting it's own feature film adaption,With filming already expected to begin this January. The film will be simply titled Warcraft and first details about the film have been revealed recently. The movie is going to focus on an event in the game's lore in which humans first encounter the Orcs. The film will be half live action and CGI, with orcs being a mixture of motion capture and animation. The film will cover both sides equally, which should be exciting for fans of the MMO. The film is going to be direct by Ducan Jones, who has directed movies such as Moon and Source Code. Ducan Jones also wrote the screenplay with Charles Leavitt and actor Travis Fimmel from Vikings will play an unspecified lead roll. Characters from the game such as Anduin Lothar and Durotan will be featured as well. Release date is set for December 18th

I'm not a huge fan of World Of WarCraft, I haven't played the game and nor do i really have any interest too. Despite this, I'll be the first in line to support this film. This film could represent a turning point in video game to movie adaptions. If this film  receives good reviews and a huge winter opening, this could mean that move studios will start taking seriously the notion of creating GOOD video game adaptions, and starts a whole new tren in Hollywood. Which excites and terrifies me all at the same time. If this bombs...well we may have to hold out for the Assassin's Creed adaption and if that ends badly, then that to me will put the final nail in the coffin in studios effectively making video game adaptions. I'm not saying they'll stop making movies off of games, oh no not at all. They just won't be good and not as supported.
