While it may not be the official news everyone was hoping for,Disney has confirmed that Star War's real star R2-D2 will return in episode 7. While it shouldn't come as a surprise considering R2-D2 is a huge marketing opportunity, it's still exciting to have some official news about the project as it's been virtually quiet since it's announcement, aside from the release date being pushed back
I have a prediction that we're gonna start hearing news on casting at accelerated rate in the beginning of next year as the film inches closer and closer to production. It's important that Disney get's buzz going around as development of the film goes along. While the film will be massive, and arguably one of the biggest movie events of this decade, the vast majority of today's population has short attention spans, and keeping the film in peoples mouth will only be more beneficial to the project.
